I did these last night at Brooklyn Artist's Gym. We were lucky to have an excellent model, and an awesome session.

James S. T. Stranahan Sculpture Sketch

A quick sketch of the Stranahan memorial in Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn. It was sculpted by Frederick William MacMonnies, and was unveiled in Stranahan's presence on June 6th, 1891. Stranahan is credited as "chief founder of Prospect Park." My hat (if I wore one) would go off to him. More info here.

Beethoven Bust Sketch

It was sculpted by Henry Baerer, and dedicated in Prospect Park's "Concert Grove" in 1894. For more info check this out.

A quick drawing of the Marquis de Lafayette Memorial

I don't think I did this beautiful bas relief, by Daniel Chester French, justice, but this was a pretty quick sketch. I'll definitely be back to take another crack at it soon.

More Figure Drawings

Last night's figure drawings. Same great model as two sessions ago. Didn't get a chance to ask her name, unfortunately. A fun session, but I wish I had a little more time to finish some of these (the longest pose was 20 minutes). Sorry for the poor image quality. I usually shoot midday in the shade for even lighting, but the rainy day didn't cooperate.
